Background

During the ceremony, you will engage with your subconscious, harboring your deepest wishes and desires, as well as your fears and old pains. A journey in the subconscious is beautiful and with the great change of new potential. At the same time, it can be challenging if you want to keep control with your old rational mind.  To prepare the best to navigate ceremony the below 10 most important flight instructions are listed. Read them carefully in your preparation for the Ceremony.

The Flight Instructions

  1. Set a clear intention
Before beginning, reflect on why you are entering the ceremony—whether for healing, insight, connection, or letting go. A clear intention acts as your compass during the journey, helping to guide your experience when it becomes intense or unclear.
  1. Surrender to the experience
Rather than resisting uncomfortable feelings or visions, practice letting go and allowing the journey to unfold. Resistance often creates tension, while surrender allows for deeper healing and insight to emerge.
  1. Stay with the breath
Your breath is your anchor. In moments of intensity, return your focus to slow, steady breathing. It brings calm, reconnects you to your body, and helps you stay present.
  1. Trust and connect with the medicine
Have faith in the intelligence of the plant. Trust that whatever arises—joyful or challenging—is part of your healing and growth process, even if it’s not immediately understood.
  1. Keep your eyes closed
Closing your eyes supports internal focus and reduces external distractions. It helps you move deeper into the inner landscape, where the most profound parts of the journey often occur.
  1. Avoid talking during the journey
Silence supports depth. Talking can pull you—and others—out of your process. Only speak if necessary or if the space holder invites you to share for support.
  1. Remember: it will pass
No matter how intense, blissful, or difficult the moment feels, it is temporary. Remind yourself that everything in the journey moves in waves, and you are being held through it all.
  1. The way out is through
In a psychedelic ceremony, difficult emotions, memories, or sensations may arise. This instruction reminds you that healing and transformation come not by avoiding discomfort but by gently moving through it. When fear, sadness, or confusion shows up, the instinct may be to push it away or escape—but these moments often hold the key to deep release and understanding. By staying present, breathing, and allowing the experience to unfold, you give yourself the chance to face what has been buried or avoided. Often, just on the other side of the hardest moment lies clarity, peace, or insight. Trust that you have the strength to face what arises—and that going through it is the very path to freedom.
  1. Connect to the divine light
Connecting to the divine light during ceremony means attuning to the sacred presence within and around you. This light is a source of unconditional love, guidance, and protection. When you focus on it—through prayer, visualization, or intention—it can illuminate even the darkest moments, offering clarity and strength. Trusting in the divine light helps you surrender more deeply, knowing you are being held by something greater than yourself.
  1. Ask for help when needed
Last but not least, please ask for support from the ceremony leader or guides. Sometimes, a short talk, a breath together, or just the presence of the helpers can clear stubborn obstacles in the journey.
